High School students from the MRSC Region 1 took a trip to Challenger Learning Center in Hammond, Indiana. While there, students discussed with an instructor scientist Isaac Newton’s laws and how they apply to rocketry. Students then worked in teams to follow a set of instructions to engineer and launch a balloon rocket. They worked through the engineering process, while changing their designs and improving upon them. Students also participated in a planetarium experience about the history of space exploration.
